Watercolor Retreat

Discover the beauty of watercolor and nature during a weekend retreat at Gates Lodge in Northern Michigan. Nestled along the scenic Au Sable River, this immersive event blends hands-on instruction in essential watercolor techniques with the tranquility of rustic surroundings. Over three days, participants will build foundational skills, find inspiration in nature—including an optional hike on the Mason Tract Pathway—and culminate in the creation of a personal masterpiece. Created for beginners, this retreat offers a serene and supportive environment to spark creativity and connect with the art of watercolor.

 No supplies or materials are needed. Paint, watercolor paper, beginner level brushes are provided for all participants. Just bring yourself and an appetite for a lovely weekend.
